The Dijonettes are a 10-piece "freestyle orchestra" based in Minneapolis featuring the legendary DJ Stage One and conducted by poet/percussionist Truth Maze.  Combining elements of afrobeat, hip-hop, and electro-bleep, the sound is spontaneous and highly textured, but always driven by a search for new grooves. The group includes members of FOG, LATEDUSTER, and THE SENSATIONAL JOINT CHIEFS, plus a horn section led by Celine Dijon himself. The Dijonettes have a new track "music is our parachute" featured on the new CROSSFADED Vol 1 compilation CD released by FIRETRUNK/GROOVE GARDEN in May.
